About York Model Aircraft Society

YMAS, is based in Bossall, near York. and was founded in 1936. Currently there are around 50 members. YMAS is registered with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA), our club number is 290. We cater for Fixed wing, Silent flight, Electric flight and Helicopters.  Members meet on varying days of the week. Saturday and Sunday are most common but some do like Tuesdays...Nice and quiet. People of all flying skills are welcome and the club runs and competes in many competitions including the Open Glider competition, Phoenix Glider Competition (Using the 2M HobbyKing Phoenix Glider), Fly for fun competition and the Building competition more details can be found on the Competition pages.
Members are always happy to help beginners learn and we have a number of trainers and examiners to help you attain your BMFA certificates. If you don't know how to set up your model then members will be pleased to help.
