YMAS, is based in Bossal, near York. and was founded in 1936. Currently there are around 50 members. YMAS is registered with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA), our club number is 290. We cater for Fixed wing, Silent flight, Electric flight and Helicopters. Members meet on varying days of the week. Saturday and Sunday are most common but some do like Tuesdays...Nice and quiet. People of all flying skills are welcome and the club runs and competes in many competitions and club meets throughout the year. Members are always happy to help beginners learn and we have a number of trainers and examiners to help you attain your BMFA certificates. If you don't know how to set up your model then members will be pleased to help.
Members may fly at the Bossall site between 9am and dusk (8pm for IC engine models) throughout the year.
The Power and Silent flight NATS will be held over the weekend of the 25-27th of August, with the power NATS at RAF Barkston Heath, NG32 2DQ and the Silent flights NATS at BMFA Buckminster, Sewstern, Grantham NG33 5RW.
The Next Sunday Phoenix gilder competition will be on Sunday the 19th of August at Bossall
The next Wednesday Night open gilder competition will be on Wednesday the 15th of August at Bossall
